MEET DR. CHOI
A periodontist who teaches what he practices.
Dr. Ben Choi earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) at Midwestern University in Illinois in 2015 and practiced for several years as a general dentist. His experience in comprehensive dentistry provided him with a strong foundation in restorative and preventive care before pursuing advanced specialty training.
He later completed his specialty training in Periodontics at the University of Washington and advanced his clinical expertise as a Kois Specialist Graduate at the world-renowned Kois Center, focusing on comprehensive periodontal, restorative, and implant care.
Dr. Choi is a periodontist and an Affiliate Faculty Member at the University of Washington School of Dentistry, where he contributes to the education of future dentists. In addition, he serves as an implant and surgical instructor with internationally recognized dental education organizations, where he trains colleagues in advanced surgical techniques.
His clinical focus includes minimally invasive periodontal therapy, LANAP® laser treatment, gum grafting, guided bone regeneration, and dental implants. Dr. Choi is recognized for his precision in microsurgery, his evidence-based approach, and his commitment to delivering natural, long-lasting results in even the most complex cases.

Crown lengthening is a procedure that reshapes the gum and bone around a tooth to expose more of its natural structure. This treatment is often recommended when a tooth is broken, decayed near the gumline, or needs additional support for a new crown or restoration.
It can also be performed for cosmetic reasons — to reduce a “gummy smile” and create a more balanced, natural look. By adjusting the gumline, crown lengthening not only improves function but also enhances the overall appearance of your smile.

Healthy gums are the foundation of a healthy smile. When gum disease or bone loss threatens that foundation, we use advanced tools like the Periscope (a high-powered dental microscope) and LANAP® laser therapy to diagnose and treat disease with precision.
The Periscope allows us to see deep below the gumline without surgery, identifying hidden tartar and infection. LANAP® uses laser energy to gently remove diseased tissue and bacteria while stimulating natural healing and regeneration.
